While we continued our travels in Sweden, Bas from Jansen Restorations @carjansen (who also did the mediablasting and paint job etcetera) was willing to receive the Volvo Amazon and start the processes with the insurance. Read full post : Damaged Volvo delivered at Jansen Restorations »
While camping in National Park Höga Kusten in Sweden I started writing my book about converting the Volvo Amazon wagon. At the moment not sure yet whether it will be coffee-table kind of photo book or also a guide to EV conversions with how I did it and my lessons learned. Thank you all for the warm and overwhelming responses. I never realized my project inspired so many people.
At the moment I don’t know how/why it happened and can only guess. I am trying to park that question for now. Good news is the car will be brought home. My parents dropped off our Volvo 940 at the recovery service who just delivered it here in Sweden.
We will resume our offline travels.
Later I will investigate and share findings, thoughts and theories on what caused the fire. The same goes for the question “what will happen next?”

On June 30th around 7:55 we were woken up “Your car on fire”. Noooooo. Unfortunately it was true and we rushed to the car.
